Salary: £34,000 – £42,000 depending on experience and specialization

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to join our expanding Clinical Biochemistry team at Manchester Royal Infirmary. You’ll work in our state-of-the-art laboratory supporting critical diagnostic services across Greater Manchester, playing a vital role in patient care through accurate and timely testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex biochemical analyses on clinical samples
- Validate and authorize test results
- Troubleshoot analytical problems
- Maintain quality control standards and participate in quality improvement
- Support the on-call service for urgent clinical requests
- Participate in training junior staff and students
- Contribute to method development and verification
Requirements
- BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
- Experience in a clinical biochemistry setting
- Knowledge of automated analytical platforms
- Understanding of quality management systems
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
